ABOUT JAMES WESTLAKE

​

James Westlake is a freelance cinematographer based in Milton Keynes. He studied at Central Film School London, receiving a BA(hons), and has been working in film professionally for the last 9 years.

​

James has worked on a number of feature film as a cinematographer, most recently on Helloween (2024, dir. Phil Claydon), Knightfall (2024, dir. Ben Mole), Peter Rabid (2023, dir. SJ Evans), Reach (2022, dir. Marcus Flemmings) and Welcome to Paradise (2023, dir. Richard Calvert). Reach (2022) recently won a number of awards including best film at the European Cinematography Awards. He has also shot many award winning short films, and worked as the cinematographer on the recent reboot of The Teletubbies.

James has worked on a number of TV Commercials for brands such as Bear Snacks and My MK, as well as branded content for Dominos, Gü, The Ivy, Harrods, and many more. He has also worked as a cinematographer on TV documentaries including Secret Wars Uncovered for the history channel, and a currently untitled documentary on King Charles.
